Personal Data

In order to use our services, we may ask you to provide us with certain personal identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you - this is your Personal Data. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Vehicle Details

  • A copy of your driving licence when you test drive a car or are provided with a courtesy car.
  • When you enquire about or purchase a vehicle or services we collect personal information to respond to your enquiry and to process and complete your purchase.
  • Details about the transactions you carry out with us, including vehicle support services, vehicle purchases and the purchase of other goods we sell/offer.
  • CCTV footage in which you feature when you visit our premises.
  • Information contained in and records of communication between us, including emails, letters and text messages. We also reserve the right to record calls between us for training, monitoring and quality control purposes although at present this is not something we carry out.

  • We also collect personal data to enable third parties to carry out a credit reference checks on you (if you are purchasing a vehicle on finance) and we will receive and process information about the outcome of those checks in order to complete your purchase.
  • We will collect information relevant to the insurance products we offer and sell that are provided by third parties.

Usage Data

We may also collect information how our website service is assessed and used (Usage Data). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (IP address) browser type, browser version, the pages on our website you visit, the length of time spent on those pages, the time and data of visit and any relevant diagnostic data.

Retention of Data

H G Bryer & Sons Ltd will retain your Personal Data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (eg if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our services, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

  • We may pass your information onto third party finance companies for the purpose of them providing you with finance credit. Those organisations may carry out credit reference checks and may disclose your data to credit agencies for that sole purpose.
  • We will pass your information onto third party providers of insurance and paint protection products that we offer, if you take up the option to purchasing one of these options.
  • If you buy an Approved Used Mazda from us, we may pass your details on to Mazda Warranty Services (whom are owned by Allianz Insurance Group PLC) to enable them to administer your warranty and breakdown services.
  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets (including car dealerships), we may disclose personal information held by us about our customers to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets. If we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party (or subject to a reorganisation within our group), personal information held by us about out customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • We may pass your details onto Mazda or any other relevant franchise manufacturer partner relating to your vehicle. In this instance, we ask you to fill out a separate Data Protection form as they may contact you directly regarding your vehicle and to obtain feedback and/or to provide offers.

We may disclose Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with our services
