H.G.Bryer and Sons have been in business since 1918 as a Post Office, General Store and later in 1968 became the UK's first Mazda dealership. Since the beginning and up until now, the business has always been family run, and our strong values are still with us to this day. Today, H.G.Bryer and Sons is an award winning Mazda Dealership, always maintaining our premiere position for UK Mazda dealers without loosing touch with our core family business values. We think this is why customers return to us again and again, for servicing and for their next Mazda.
We are based in the little village of Dryslwyn near Carmarthen with another dealership in Haverfordwest. We cover all of West Wales and South Wales including Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Powys and Swansea Vale. Our customers come from far and wide because they know we will always do our best to help!
Accessibility Statement
Inclusiveness has always been an important part of our business philosophy and we have been helping individuals with accessibility needs and their families since we began our relationship with Mazda in 1968.
H.G.Bryer and Sons' showroom and other buildings are all based at ground floor level making them accessible to all people. The main entrance is via large sliding doors and is, in fact, where we drive our vehicles into the main showroom.
Our large spacious showroom allows easy viewing of all new vehicles and our specially designed split-level customer service desk features a low level counter enabling wheel chair users direct eye-to-eye contact with our staff.
We are used to helping individuals and families with accessibility needs, and indeed many of our customers benefit from having their new Mazdas supplied through the Mazda Motability Scheme which we are delighted to be able to offer.
We are also able to supply custom designed vehicles with access lifts, wheelchair accessibility and other adaptations as required, again under the Mazda Motability Scheme.

Haulage
The corn merchant side of the business developed into a haulage business from the 1940s until the late 1960s with over 30 lorries carrying animal feed as well as storing and delivering fertiliser to local farms.
Wartberg Cars
The car side of the business began in 1964 when we took on the agency for the East German engined Wartberg cars.
Wartburgs had a three-cylinder, two-stroke engine with only seven moving parts! The name "Wartburg" derives from the Wartburg Castle on one of the hills overlooking the town of Eisenach where the cars were manufactured.
Wartburg was aquired by Opel in 1991. There are still many Wartburg cars in drivable condition and Wartburg owners' clubs exist throughout Europe. Many Wartburgs are still used as rally racing cars today.
The Longest Established Mazda Dealer in the UK
On 20th October 1968 we took on Mazda. We're now in our 40th year with Mazda and were recently presented with an award for being the longest established Mazda dealer in the UK, and the second oldest in Europe, behind a Cyprus dealer.
